We are agrifood clusters from differen parts of the euro-region , which have a high network and some strong links with the actors active in the sector. Cooperations and mutual activities with RTOs and incubators/accelerators, specifically focusing on the biotechnological sector already exist and will be enhanced in the framework of the cross-sectoral, but also the interregional ecosystems will be further enhanced and this via the organisation of study visits, where actors from transition and less developed regions will exchange with more developed regions. These visits will be focused on sharing of clusters euro-region biotechnology Biotech4Food best practices, mutual learning and creating of structured links.

The consortium finds its origin in the existing Thematic Smart Specialisation Partnership ‘Ingredients for a Circular Economy’ (I4CE Partnership). The structure, framework and strategy described in the I4CE project and the discussions and meetings, we started having, form the basis and starting point for the current project.
A lot of experience has already been accumulated by the Biotech4Food consortium members, not only within the I4CE Partnership, but also across other relevant European projects , such as the S3FOOD project , the B-Resilient project, and others. This experience is always driven by the search for interregional collaboration and the European added value this brings. In addition, Biotech4Food builds on the experience gained in S3FOOD and B-Resilient for successfully setting up and implementing cascade funding calls and providing innovation support services at EU level.
